Who is this service for?
This is primarily for Stripe and Wave users who would like to automatically import Stripe “Balance Transactions” as Wave “Money Transactions” for better record keeping. Stripe transaction fees can also be mapped to your preferred expense account in Wave.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention
Why this integration? As current customers of Wave Accounting we found ourselves in need of accounting for, not only our, Stripe transactions but also our transaction fees. Previously, we were relying on the bank account connection but it would only show a bulk transaction deposit, leaving us with more questions than answers. In other words, “more work”.
So, with code, we solved our issue. We built this integration to automatically import Stripe balance transactions into Wave as deposits and Stripe transaction fees as expenses.
This is only the first of several planned API connections that we will be rolling out over the course of time.
